(Continued from PM RP with Dinmenel, Sneeuw returns from the West Gash with Jonnia, an NPC of my creation.)
Balmora: Taking Jonnia Home
The local Silt Strider came into port at Balmora. It shuddered to a halt, and its passengers stood and stepped down onto the platform the Strider stood beside. Sneeuw stumbled out of the scoop as though she were drunk, but really, her legs had fallen asleep on the ride home. Her companion, a slim, moderately attractive Dunmer woman in her middle-age years, stepped out with more poise.
Sneeuw regained her balance and thanked the caravaner, then turned to her companion.
"I've brought you this far, I suppose I'll escort you home, as well. You will be going home directly, right?" she asked, smoothing her hands down her skirt.
"Yes," said Jonnia. "I'm much too tired to do anything else tonight, and I'll need my rest before I can go looking for a jeweler to sell to."
"Right. I should probably grab a nap, too," said Sneeuw, a little doubtfully. She was tired, as their trip had entailed much more than just the journey itself. But her exhaustion was physical, not mental, and she doubted if she could put herself to sleep before she did a few other things first.
The two walked down the stairs, one before the other, then turned right to cross the bridge to Labor Town, where Jonnia shared a home with another woman (or at least Sneeuw assumed it was a woman, having not seen the room mate herself, and thinking it inappropriate should an unrelated man and woman live together.)
When they reached the humble little Balmora-styled hovel, Jonnia turned to Sneeuw. "I can't thank you enough for helping me find the treasure. It had been Jekkin's and my dream for quite some time now. I just wish he had been alive to see it become a reality." She went quiet for a moment, then went on. "I hope I'll see you around soon, Sneeuw. Maybe we'll do something again sometime."
Sneeuw smiled. "I hope so, too. In fact, I fully intend to be seeing you soon! Now that you're going to be rich, I have to teach you some gods' curst fighting skills, woman."
Jonnia chuckled uneasily. "Well, goodnight, then." She stepped into her house and closed the door lightly behind her.

Balmora: Work from the Guild
Sneeuw yawned and stretched, then turned and walked off down the street. Where should she go now?
The Southwall Cornerclub, her favorite hang-out, was right down the street. Yet she didn't want to go there just yet.
Suddenly, she remembered that she hadn't checked with Eydis Fire-Eye at the Fighter's Guild in some time, and that she had been meaning to for some time now. It was about time she made herself available.
With that in mind, she hung a right and crossed the bridge once more. A Hlaalu guard with a torch in his hand passed by her without remark, which suited Sneeuw fine, as she disliked stopping and saying hello to people when she was headed somewhere.
Sneeuw found herself in front of the Fighter's Guild shortly. She took the lower entrance, then turned and went up the stairs to where Eydis Fire-Eye usually stood. At this time of night, there were still guild members walking about, though it was quieter than it was during the afternoon.
"There you are," said Eydis abruptly, spotting Sneeuw. "I was wondering when you were going to show your face here again. Just in time, too. I have work for you." She was business-like as usual, and Sneeuw wondered, briefly, if Eydis ever slept or went anywhere besides the Fighter's Guild.
"All right. What would you have me do?" Sneeuw replied.
"There's a smuggler who's been aggravating us for some time now, but we just got news of his whereabouts. It's about time someone killed him, and I think you're just the person to do it. Well? What do you say? Don't make me get someone else."
"Sure," said Sneeuw wearily; she was tired of killing people. "Name, appearance?"
"His name is Hales Gabbun. Do you need me to spell that for you? He's a Bosmer. He should be in Caldera right now. That's all you need to know. Now get going, don't you know how late it is?"
Sneeuw turned, wordlessly, and tramped down the stairs and back out into the night.
From there, she could either go "home", or... wherever she felt like, she supposed. She didn't want to go home, though, because, well... Home didn't smell very good right now, nor would it any time soon. And she always had to take extra care that no one saw her enter.
Cornerclub it was, then. Tired though she was of walking and going from here to there and all over the place, she made her way back into Labor Town and into the Cornerclub.
As usual, the Club was active even this late into the night. Sneeuw nodded to Sottilde and made her way down the hall. She must have been tired, because she almost ran smack! into Sugar-Lips Habasi.
"Sorry," Sneeuw muttered, then grinned. "Hello, Habasi. How is this Khajiit tonight?"
"Very busy," Habasi purred, her eyes bright. "Has Sneeuw come to join the Thieves Guild, finally?"
"Sadly, no," Sneeuw said, genuinely disappointed. "I don't have time in my schedule to take on another Guild. But I will soon, I promise."
"What is keeping the Nord so busy?" the Khajiit questioned.
"Various things... just got another mission from the Fighter's Guild. Have to go to Caldera in the morning." Sneeuw winced inwardly, realizing what she had said.
Habasi's bright, alert eyes darkened. "The Fighter's Guild," she hissed. "You should quit them and join the Thieves Guild. Sneeuw's purse would be much fatter if she chose this work instead."
"That may be. But it's too late, now. I don't want to just quit without warning... we'll see. See you later, Habasi."
"Sneeuw will want to quit before it's too late. They have ties with... them."
"I know. I'll be careful. I won't take on any work that would interfere with the Thieves Guild. Goodbye."
Sneeuw passed by Habasi and went downstairs. Seeing that Chirranirr was not about, she went back the way she came, then went upstairs, where she found Bacola Closcius. She greeted him and bought a bottle of Flin, then stayed to drink and chat with the Imperial, whom she did not know well, but saw often, since she frequented the Southwall Cornerclub.
"It's getting pretty late. Will you be buying the room here?" he inquired after some small talk.
Sneeuw would have immediately declined, but she considered it. It would be a lot easier, and less suspicious, if she did so.
"All right," she said, handing over the right amount of gold in exchange for the key to the door that was adjacent the two.
"I think I will go to bed right now, actually. Thanks for the room, and the drink. Goodnight."
"Nice doing business with you," Bacola nodded. "Don't forget to give the key back before you leave."
Sneeuw nodded and let herself into the room. She looked it over, then pulled up the covers and pillows, looking underneath them, before she finally settled down to sleep. In the morning, she'd head out for Caldera. And she'd have to walk, too. Her dismay over having to walk was the last thing on her mind before she drifted off.

Balmora: Returning from Caldera
The return trip to Balmora was considerably shorter than the trip to Caldera had been. Not willing to risk the road after having narrowly escaped that strange vampire, Sneeuw had taken the Mage's Guild transport.
As soon as she was back home in Balmora, Sneeuw scoured her hand repeatedly with soap and steaming hot water, then made her way to the Fighter's Guild.
Eydis was not in her usual spot upstairs, but, it transpired, downstairs, practicing her skills on a dummy.
"Sorry to interrupt," said Sneeuw, striding toward the fiery-haired Nord. "But I just got back from Caldera. Hales Gabbun is dead."
"Good," said Eydis, eyeing the dummy as if it had killed her mother, then putting away her weapon and pulling out a small pouch full of money, which she tossed at Sneeuw. "There's your pay. Come back when you're ready for more work."
Sneeuw thanked her, pocketed the gold, which she guessed to be about 500 Septims, then could not get out of the Guild fast enough.
Her first stop, after the Guild, was Southwall. She dropped by just long enough to regale Habasi with tales of her trip to Caldera, then told the Khajiit where she would be next. (Gnisis, she had decided. She would stop there before and after her trip to Maelkashishi. There was a Temple there, if she remembered correctly, and that was where she intended to buy a Cure Common Disease Potion and a Cure Blight Potion (since she was unsure whether Ash-Chancre was a Common or Blight disease.) Since she hadn't shown her face at Temple in quite a while, she would also leave a donation, with the hopes that it would go toward helping the needy and not into some higher-ranking Temple member's pocket.)
That done, Sneeuw paid a visit to her new friend Jonnia. When Jonnia greeted Sneeuw at the door, she noticed at once that the Dunmer lacked any signs of having improved her situation.
"What's the deal?" Sneeuw asked, accepting the muffin Jonnia offered her and taking a seat. "Shouldn't you have diamonds dangling from your ears?"
"Oh," Jonnia sighed, sitting across from Sneeuw. "I haven't managed to sell the goblet yet. I can't find anyone in town who will buy it, and I'm afraid to go travelling by myself... Sneeuw, do you know anyone who might have enough gold for it?"
"Hm," Sneeuw thought, leaning back in her chair and tapping her nose as she thought. "Well, I know some people who might know some people..." She remembered Publumwe's advice, but she did not know any wealthy jewelers, local or not. However, Habasi might know someone...
"How do you feel about paying a visit to Southwall?" Sneeuw asked. Jonnia looked as though she didn't think much of the idea, but said, "If you think it'll help..."
"Good. It's settled, then. But first, some lessons," said Sneeuw, standing up.
Jonnia looked panicky. "I thought you were joking about that..."
"No, indeed not," Sneeuw confirmed, giving a Jonnia an appraising look. "We'll start with hand-to-hand combat, then."
Sneeuw spent the next hour teaching Jonnia the different stances and defensive maneuvers with which Sneeuw was most familiar. (Despite Jonnia's initial cold feet, she was eager to learn some fighting moves. However, Sneeuw told her that she would not teach her anything offensive until they mastered defense.)
"I think that should do today," Sneeuw said sheepishly, after having punched Jonnia rather hard in the jaw. Jonnia was still rubbing her jaw, trying not to glare at Sneeuw.
"You know what, you don't have to come to Southwall with me," Sneeuw said, by way of apology. "I'll go talk to my friends myself. 'Til next time, Jonnia. And sorry again about your jaw."
After that, she hustled back into the streets.

Good Morning/Good Night
Sneeuw stood a while in the street, trying to think what she had to do next.
After a while, she sat down on a crate beside a house, took out her quill and inkpot, and began to think of a list to write for herself.
First, she would go and talk to Habasi, to see if she had any connections with someone wealthy enough to purchase the golden goblet.
She hiked up her skirt, dipped her quill in ink, and wrote, "Ask Habasi about rich friends" on her knee.
Then, she wanted to drop by the Temple, to donate some gold and purchase potions. She could make her own potions, of course, but she didn't have the proper ingredients, and would much rather buy one from someone who had more experience than she.
"Visit Temple" got added to her knee. She might as well visit the one in Balmora- it would be good for her to show her face where she was familiar.
Then she wanted to go to Gnisis, from where she would revisit Maelkashishi. Then she would help the Orc, and explore the shrine a bit more. That would probably take a day.
"Go to Gnisis. Heal Orc."
Sneeuw then paused, quill poised over her knee. Then what? She had a feeling she was forgetting something extremely important... as she tried to remember what it was, the sky above began to lighten.
Suddenly, it hit her- it was her friend's birthday this week. Her odd hermit friend who lived in a hole in a mountain in Molag Amur. She would definitely have to visit her- the two of them had been so busy, it had been months since she'd seen her last.
"Set aside day for her." She drew several underlines under the word "her", then put her quill and inkpot away. She fanned her knee, letting the ink dry, then headed down to Southwall for the second time that day.
It was not so surprising to see that Habasi was still up and active. After all, most of a thief's work took place while the rest of the city preferred to sleep.
Seeing that Habasi was deeply immersed in conversation with an Argonian Sneeuw did not know, Snee went on and waited downstairs, by the bar. Risking offense, she took out a bottle of flin, so recently having changed owners, and drank that as she waited. After several minutes, she pulled out her journal and began to record the things that had transpired since last she wrote. It had, it turned out, been quite a while.
Sneeuw wrote up a good summary- met Publumwe, found ring and letter, found Jonnia, tracked down Publumwe and got him to help, went to shrine, met sick Orc, found Grail, gave it to Jonnia, took Jonnia home, got attacked by a vampire on road to Caldera, killed Throknolf the Craven, found Hales Gabbun, killed him, came home, got money, saw Jonnia. She left out whatever thoughts, feelings, and observations she had during all this, to fill in later, when she was in a place with more privacy. Then she put her things away and checked to see if Habasi was done talking to the Argonian.
Sneeuw almost missed Habasi, who wasn't there where Sneeuw left her, but had been just about to leave the Cornerclub. Sneeuw caught her right before she reached the door.
"Habasi!"
Habasi turned round and greeted Sneeuw with bright eyes and a smile. "Is Snee here to tell Habasi she is ready to join the Thieves Guild?" she purred. "Habasi sure hopes so, since it's the only thing Habasi wants to hear this early in the morning."
Sneeuw was silent a moment, choosing her words carefully. "Yes, I will join the Thieves Guild," she said. "But not just yet. I need your help, Habasi. And if you can help me, I'll repay you ten times over."
Habasi seemed to consider the offer. "Snee will do anything Habasi asks? That is ten favors in all?"
"Yes, Habasi. I promise." Sneeuw raised a fist and held it over her heart.
"Very good," Habasi said, "But first, what is it Snee would ask of Habasi?"
"Well," Sneeuw said, again having to choose her words carefully. "I just came by a particularly rare and expensive item, and I'd like to sell it, but I can't find anyone who has enough money to buy it off me. Do you know anyone who's very, very wealthy?"
Habasi answered immediately.
"Yes, Habasi knows such a person. What will Snee give Habasi if she arranges a meeting?"
"Well, like I said, I'll do you some favors whenever you need me, and I'm sure I can share some of the wealth if I can make a successful sale to your friend."
"Good, good," said Habasi, stroking her chin. "Habasi will talk to her friend. Come back not tomorrow, but the day next. Then Habasi will know."
"All right... thank you, Habasi," Sneeuw said, and then she opened the door for the Khajiit, before following her outside.
The sun was now halfway over the horizon, bathing the city in its amaranthine light and casting long shadows. Sneeuw was beginning to feel fatigued.
Well, if I have to wait three days... I suppose I have time to sleep, she thought, then made her way to High Town, where she would disappear into one of the buildings and sleep.

Attend Your Hypocrisies
Sneeuw awoke sometime in the early evening that same day. She stumbled out onto the street, confused, then remembered that she had written her To Do List on her knee. She hiked up her skirt, consulted the list, then made her way through High Town to the Temple.
Sneeuw was greeted by a maintained hush when she entered the Temple. To her left were two rooms, both containing beds. Someone was snoring very lightly in the room closest to her from her position by the entrance. She could see their feet poking out from under the covers.
She crossed the room and entered into another- this one with ash pits and two shrines. She located the shrine of St. Rilm (St. Rilm the Generous, patron saint of paupers) and dropped ten Septims into the bowl in front of it. Then she turned around and went upstairs to the topmost level of the Temple, where she could see the inside of the domed ceiling and the platform built into it.
Past the platform, she could see a large picture depicting St. Veloth guiding the Dunmer people to Morrowind. Sneeuw was used to seeing that same picture in many places.
Sneeuw spotted Feldrelo Sadri, Temple Master, and knew she would have to speak to her before she attended her other business. She approached the Dunmer woman, who stood reading a book, no doubt one of Vivec's sermons.
Sneeuw cleared her throat softly to get Feldrelo's attention. She looked up, a stern expression on her face, one that neatly morphed into a kindly, patronly smile. "What can I do for you, my child?"
"Um," Sneeuw said. She had been expecting to get scolded, as she hadn't shown up for quite some time. "I was just wondering what I've been missing around here, since I haven't been by in a while."
"Actually," Feldrelo said, as if just remembering, "You missed several sermons. And there are always chores to be done..."
"I will come by again as soon as possible," said Sneeuw, and when Feldrelo looked displeased, she added, "I hope by helping the needy I have been doing justice to our Faith, even if it is not work handed down to me by my superiors?"
"Well, yes," the Dunmer conceded, smiling once again. "It's good that you seek those who need your help. Just be sure to come by more often." With that, Sneeuw felt herself sufficiently dismissed, then left Feldrelo with her blessings.
Sneeuw located a familiar figure in the corner of the room, where she had expected to see it. Standing with his back turned toward her was an Altmer in a powder blue robe that trailed to the ground. Sneeuw could not see his feet, but knew he would be barefoot.
"Swan," Sneeuw said, and the man jumped a few inches out of his skin, before turning around. Though he had snowy white hair, the Altmer had a young face, and an unassuming manner to go with it. His eyebrows, too, were white, and his eyes were blue-grey. With his long-ish neck and rather duckfooted walk, he looked every bit his namesake. (His real name wasn't Swan, of course- but when Sneeuw first met him she heard 'Swan', and he never bothered to correct her.)
"Don't do that," he protested, clutching his chest. "You nearly made me drop this," he said, holding up an unidentifiable potion.
"Sorry," Sneeuw said, more amused than sheepish. "What're you doing, anyway? Is now a bad time?"
"I'm just sniffing my potions to see if they're still fresh," said the young man (he was twenty years Sneeuw's senior, but Sneeuw still thought of him as about the same age as herself.)
"Do potions go bad in time?" Sneeuw asked.
"Well, mine do," said Swan. "Some of these are pretty old, from a time when I was less skilled. I'm cleaning out my trunk right now, to make room for newer, better potions."
"Don't junk 'em," said Sneeuw. "Have a sale!"
The young mer grinned. "Nah, I won't do that to people. So, what brings you here? I haven't seen you in forever-and-a-half. You missed a good sermon last week; someone sneezed during it, and it caused a whole chain reaction of sneezing." The elf giggled. "I sneezed, too, just to keep the chain going."
Sneeuw giggled, too. "I'm sorry I missed that. I just thought I'd drop by. Oh," she snapped her fingers, as though just remembering something. "I need a Cure Blight Disease potion, and a Cure Common disease one. Do you have any for barter?"
Swan grimaced. "Oh, I'm sorry. I just threw out a couple of those, they didn't smell quite as sharp as they ought to have. I can make you some, though. I can have them ready by tomorrow morning, will that be all right?"
Sneeuw thought it over. "All right, that's fine," she said. "Thank you, Swan."
Swan grinned, waving an airy hand. "Don't mention it." Sneeuw was reminded, once again, why she was friends with this person.
"Well, I better not distract you anymore," Sneeuw said, kicking at nothing.
"Oh, don't worry about that," said Swan, again waving his hand. "But you know, it would be nice to see you somewhere outside the Temple. So we can talk without having to worry about being quiet."
"That would be nice," Sneeuw agreed. "How about tomorrow? It's the only free day I have this week."
Swan made another face. "Tomorrow's no good," he sighed. "They're sending me to Vivec, to visit the poor who live in the cantons there."
"Oh." Sneeuw looked at her feet gloomily. "Well, I'll try to visit as soon as possible, all right?"
"Sure, you do that," said Swan sarcastically, but Sneeuw knew he was teasing.
"I will!" she said, already walking away. "Suuuuuure," Swan's voice followed her out of the room.

Sneeuw could think of nothing else to do with the rest of her night. She had to wait until tomorrow for her potions, and she had to wait 'til the day after that before she could talk to Habasi. So she headed over to Jonnia's house.
"Hello," Jonnia greeted Sneeuw happily at the door. When Sneeuw stepped inside, she saw a book lying facedown and open on the table. She angled her head, reading its title. The Lives of Saints.
"How've you been?" Sneeuw asked Jonnia, already seating herself.
"Fine, fine," Jonnia said, picking the book up, sticking a leaf in it, and then putting it away. "A little anxious, actually. Did you talk to... um... your informant?"
"Oh. Yes. She's arranging a meeting for us with someone she says is very wealthy and might buy the goblet from you," Sneeuw said, twiddling with her braid. "If it's all the same to you, let's pretend the goblet is mine and I'm the one who wants to sell?" Jonnia looked doubtful, but Sneeuw went on.
"That way it's not so easy for them to trick us," Sneeuw said. "I do, after all, know the ways of thieves."
"If you think it's best," said Jonnia, running her fingers through her hair. Sneeuw eyed her thoughtfully.
"It might do to change your look," Sneeuw said. "I don't know what about my appearance says it, but people always seem to know I'm an experienced traveler. If we could get you some armor or something, that might help..."
"Time to go shopping, then?" Jonnia asked, standing and going for her purse.
"Yep, I think so," said Sneeuw, already making for the door.
----------------------------------------
After visiting several different shops, Sneeuw had put together an outfit for Jonnia that consisted of an expensive skirt, Netch boots and pauldrons, cloth bracers, and a durable but fine blouse. A sheath slung over her hip by a belt held a Chitin dagger, and she now wore her purse on a string around her neck, hidden under her blouse.
"That should do, I think," Sneeuw said once they were back inside Jonnia's house, as Jonnia turned this way and that, showing off the outfit. "Now you don't look so vulnerable and peasant-y."
Jonnia frowned at that, but then forced herself to stop.
"Well, that should be all for today," Sneeuw said, stretching. "I'll come for you on the day we're supposed to meet with this mysterious rich person. 'Til then, take care of yourself." Sneeuw exchanged waves with Jonnia then stepped outside.
Now then. What next? The night was still young, as far as Sneeuw was concerned. She consulted the list on her knee, but could not see anything she would want to undertake immediately.
Except... she might start looking for a present for her friend. And she knew exactly where to start looking.
Continued in Vivec.

Returned from Vivec.
Sneeuw climbed the stairs of the building. When she reached the top, she hopped on the ledge, balancing precariously, then leapt across onto the balcony of another building, where let herself through the door with a lockpick.
Inside the house, it was dim. There was a distinctly grim aura, one that never failed to greet Sneeuw as soon as she entered, though it faded from her awareness the longer she stayed inside the house.
She made her way to a room- a very unkempt room, where things were thrown about in a higgledy-piggledy manner. The only sign of Sneeuw's inhabiting the room were the books and other objects shoved under the bed.
Sneeuw crossed over to said bed, getting down on her knees and pulling some things out. Finally, she found what she was looking for- a large square of cloth, with an attractive pattern of gold, spiky-looking roses overlaying orange flowers, on a black background. Sneeuw took the recently purchased Vampires of Vvardenfell and wrapped it in the cloth. Then she slipped her bag from her shoulder and pushed it underneath the bed with her other things.
Sneeuw clambered onto the bed and settled tailor-fashion, her hands resting, palms up, in her lap. She fixed her eyes on a focal point and stilled the restless rustling of her mind, turning her focus outward. She listened.
After twenty minutes of this, Sneeuw felt completely assured of her own safety, and she laid back on the bed, disturbing the covers little, and fell asleep.

Getting Potions from Swan: Temple, Balmora
Sneeuw woke to confusion. She'd been lying in bed, asleep, and suddenly, she wasn't asleep, just lying there with her eyes closed, and that confused her. Also, she had this nagging feeling that she was supposed to get up and go do something.
So she lay there for a while, eyes moving under closed lids, trying to think what it was she needed to do. Then she remembered- potions! Swan had said he would have potions for her ready, but she had to come for them in the morning, because the rest of the day Swan would be in Vivec and quite unreachable.
She sprang out of the bed, unearthed her bag from under the bed, and scrambled out into the hall, pausing momentarily to listen for intruders. Then she jolted outside, stifling a yelp when sunlight shot into her eyes. When her vision cleared, she could see that it was still morning, and sighed with relief. Then she went to the edge of the balcony and peered out to see if anyone was in the street. A Hlaalu guard passed by the house, unaware of her, then walked on until she lost sight of him around the corner of another building.
The coast clear, Sneeuw vaulted over the balcony ledge and landed painfully on the stairs adjacent, her ankles going "CRUNCH!" Paying no mind to her discomfort, she took flight into the streets, arriving in the Temple seconds later.
However, when Sneeuw looked for Swan in his usual place, he was not there. She strode over to his bench- the only piece of furniture they allowed him, at his low rank, carrying his assortment of alchemical apparatuses and some ingredients wrapped in parchment. His chest was gone.
Sneeuw sighed, raking her hand through her hair, then letting it drop to her side. She'd missed him, then.
Suddenly, Sneeuw felt a light jab in the middle of her spine. She froze, then turned round to see who had poked her. No one was there. Puzzled, Sneeuw turned back around to look gloomily at the spot where Swan was supposed to be, and there it was again- a light poke, this time in the back of her head. Sneeuw swung round and jabbed back, aiming somewhere a couple inches above her head.
"OUCH!" Swan immediately became visible, rubbing his chest tenderly. "You poke hard!"
Sneeuw smirked. "Well, don't be pulling that sort of thing on Sneeuw."
"Pffft, just getting you back for yesterday," Swan said, indignant, then he smiled cheerfully. "Looking for these?" He pulled two potions from behind his back, waving them above Sneeuw's head.
"He's as good as his word, he is," Sneeuw said jovially. "But what can I give you in return?"
"Let me think," said Swan. "Hmmm... your soul will do nicely."
Sneeuw snickered into her hand. "You can't have that, I'm not done with it yet." Then, "Oh! Maybe..." Sneeuw sat down on the floor and started rummaging through her bag. A few seconds later she let out an "Aha!" holding up a bundle wrapped in a blue cloth, the sort that can be typically found in most households. She unwrapped it, revealing two rubies, a diamond, and an emerald. She straightened up, offering the jewels to Swan.
"So? What do you think? Can make some pretty good potions out of them, can't you?"
"Well, with my skill, I suppose," mumbled Swan, eyeing the jewels despite himself.
"Go on, take them, then," Sneeuw said, shoving the bundle into his hand. "I'd just end up wasting them if I tried to use them."
"Well," said the Altmer, recovering himself. "That will do and then some. Nice doing business with you." He handed over the potions and solemnly shook her hand, causing Sneeuw to giggle.
"You go do your altruistic thing, then," Sneeuw said, putting the potions away in her bag. "And I'll go do my... well, y'know... thing," she said, snickering awkwardly.
"Oh, I know," said Swan emphatically, waving her away.

To Molag Amur Next
Sneeuw stood looking up at the Silt Strider platform, as the morning slogged on without her.
She was low on money... but she had to visit Tara... but she needed to save her money for Gnisis... but she had to visit Tara. Finally, she came to the unpleasant conclusion that she would have to walk to Tara's place of residence. She headed South out of Balmora.
(Summary): She passed Fort Moonmoth, the Fields of Kummu, then Suran, heading deep into Molag Amur...

It was noon by the time Sneeuw returned to Balmora. She did not make for "home", because she was well rested from staying the night at her friend's house. Instead, she went to Southwall, as it was now time to speak to Habasi about her wealthy friend.
Sneeuw found that Habasi was not around. By speaking to Sottilde, she learned that the Khajiit was out performing some errand of her own volition. Sneeuw decided to wait.
When Habasi arrived, Sneeuw was slightly giddy, having been drinking Flin.
"Hey!" she greeted, striding over to shake Habasi's hand vigorously. "And how are you? Was it fun, whatever you were doing?"
A little taken aback, Habasi nonetheless replied, "It's always a little fun. That is why we are thieves, no? Why so glad to see Habasi?" Before Sneeuw could reply, Habasi said, "Ahh. Sneeuw is wanting to hear about Habasi's rich friend. Yes, it is all good. Friend S'verre awaits Sneeuw in fancy manor West from Vivec. Sneeuw should take Silt Strider, go to Vivec city. Go straight past bridge to Foreign Quarter. Keep walking. Swim a little. The land she comes to is the land where S'verre lives. If Sneeuw reaches the sea, she has gone too far."
Sneeuw smiled, shaking Habasi's hand some more (Habasi had not succeeded in freeing the hand.) "Thank you, Habasi. I won't forget my promise to you."
Then she sped out of the club, eager to see Jonnia as soon as possible.
However, when Sneeuw knocked on Jonnia's door, it was not her Dunmer friend who answered, but a young Orc who squinted at Sneeuw through black eyes, as if unsure what to make of her.
"Er... is Jonnia home?" The Orc leaned away from the door frame and shouted over her shoulder, "IT'S FOR YOU!" before disappearing within the house. Jonnia arrived a moment later, a comb in one hand and a handful of hair in the other.
"Hello, Sneeuw," she said, standing back to allow Sneeuw to enter. "What's the update on our situation?"
"I think I have found a buyer," Sneeuw said, declining to step inside. "My friend says he is very rich, and he's expecting to see us today. Are you ready to go now, or do you have to prepare?"
"I'm ready. Just let me grab my bag," Jonnia said, running the comb through her hair one final time before setting it down and reaching for her bag. "Will we be doing much walking through the wilderness again?" she asked worriedly, stepping through the door and closing it behind her.
"No," Sneeuw said, suddenly noticing that Jonnia was wearing the armor she had bought. "It's just a little West of Vivec. We get to take a Silt Strider!"
"Oh, good," Jonnia sighed, and they were off!
(Next post in wilderness, I think.)
Continued in West of Vivec.

Jonnia's silence did not last the entire trip back to Balmora. When they could just begin to see the city on the horizon, she had started talking- and talking, and talking. It seemed she had fully absorbed the extent of what had happened, and was now making plans as fast as she could form them in her head.
"First I'll start looking for a house to buy... let's see. It's always been our dream to live in a manor in Balmora. How many manors are there left? Wait, didn't Ralen Hlaalo recently die? I wonder if his will be going to family. Or maybe House Hlaalu owns it. Well, I could always have one built. Yes, I think that'll do nicely. Then I'll start buying some new dresses- if I'm rich, I should look it. Then maybe I'll buy a servant to help me with the menial chores. Oh, I can't tell you how tired I am of sweeping and doing dishes..."
Sneeuw listened dreamily, her head propped up on her fist, watching the landscape jerk by from her side on the Silt Strider. At length, the Silt Strider lurched to a stop, letting out a melancholy groan as it did so. Sneeuw and Jonnia staggered to their feet, then stepped down onto the platform.
"Thanks for the ride," Sneeuw said to the caravaner, and Jonnia tipped the man.
Jonnia continued to fill Sneeuw's ears with talk of what she was going to do with her life as they made their way back to the squat shack Jonnia shared with an Orc. Jonnia stopped in front of it, key in hand, giving it a disgusted look.
"I never noticed how shabby it was before," she remarked, then let herself in.
The female Orc that was Jonnia's room mate sat at the table, playing with cards. When she saw Jonnia and Sneeuw, she gathered the cards, grunted, and went upstairs.
Sneeuw hefted the large chest of gold onto the table.
"Well, Sneeuw," Jonnia said, her eyes gleaming as she rested them on the chest. "I think it's time I rewarded you for your help."
Sneeuw blushed faintly, and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Um, well. That's not exactly necessary..." she muttered.
Jonnia gave her an incredulous look. "Oh, don't argue," she said, flapping her hand at Sneeuw. "If I didn't repay you in some way, I would feel guilty. And you wouldn't want me to feel bad, would you?"
Jonnia had found Sneeuw's weak spot. "Of course not," she said resignedly.
"It's settled, then." Jonnia flipped the latch on the chest and opened it. Her face was lit with the reflected glow of gold.
"Give me your purse, Sneeuw," she said, and Sneeuw handed it over. She filled it to the brim with gold, then handed it back.
"There," she said, smiling in a satisfied way. "And if you ever need anything again, come see me, and I'll see what I can do."
"Thank you, Jonnia," Sneeuw said, tossing her purse up and down. It had never felt so heavy before.
"No, Sneeuw. Thank you," Jonnia said, then narrowed her eyes thoughtfully. "Er, tell your friend I'm in his debt, as well," she said awkwardly.
Sneeuw thought about that. She didn't think Publumwe would care, but she would relay the message offhandedly, if she remembered to. That would do.
"All right, Jonnia. I think this is the part of the story where we part ways," Sneeuw said, tucking her wallet back into her bag.
Jonnia looked alarmed. "You mean you won't come to visit me anymore? What about my fighting lessons?"
"Oh, I'll come visit you, sure," Sneeuw said dismissively. "But I think I'm going to be very busy for a while. I owe Habasi big time for arranging our meeting with S'verre. And there is always work to be done for my Masters in House, Temple, and guilds. Plus, Publumwe might come for that favor by the end of the week. So I won't be leaving you, really, but I will be absent for some time. You have enough money to buy yourself training from the Fighter's Guild. In fact, for the time being, I suggest you hire a bodyguard. Goodbye, Jonnia."
Jonnia frowned, but nodded. "All right, Sneeuw. I'll do as you say and hire a bodyguard. Take care, will you? If you ever, er... stop being so busy, come visit me and stay a while. Goodbye, Sneeuw." Jonnia offered her hand to Sneeuw uncertainly. Sneeuw grinned and shook the hand warmly, then without further adieu, left.

As Sneeuw had told Jonnia, she owed Habasi. Ten favors, she had said. And she intended to make good her promise.
So, as always when having finished one thing, and before beginning another thing, she brought herself to Southwall.
And as usual, this is where she found Habasi, in the lowest level of the club. She stood with a group- two male Khajiit and an Argonian lady- talking loudly. They all sipped from tall, skinny, dark red flasks.
Sneeuw stood at the edge of the group, unsure how to announce herself, but Habasi caught sight of her and pulled her forward, introducing her to the group at large as "The Nord who owes Habasi so much".
"So, what can Habasi do for Sneeuw? Or maybe, what can Sneeuw do for Habasi?" she said, laughing raspily.
"That's just what I'm here to find out," Sneeuw replied, after having exchanged greetings with Habasi's rowdy group of friends. "Have you thought of anything you'd like me to do yet?"
"Oh, no," Habasi said reproachfully, shaking her claw in Sneeuw's face. "Do not rush Habasi, for Habasi needs time to think of something really, really hard for Sneeuw to do. Come back later, later," she said, already waving goodbye.
Sneeuw nodded and faded out of the group. Well, she would give the Khajiit some time by going to Gnisis, then.
