Sneeuw stood, the partial darkness lying behind the open door holding her gaze like a hook. The nosy, thieving part of her was drawn, wanting to peek inside and explore. But Mavon was probably inside and would catch her, and that wouldn't be good for any friendship she had established with the smith so far. So what to do?

Several times, she walked off, briefly wandered aimlessly about town, then returned, held by indecision. Finally, she had turned around in order to wander off for a greater length in time, but at that moment someone sped into her, and her bag went flying from her shoulder. The other person bounced back, dropping a few noisy, clanging metal dishes. It was a Dunmer lady, older than Sneeuw by who knew how many tens of years, and she scowled at the Nord as though it had been her fault. Sneeuw snorted in response, but helped the lady gather her metal dishes, and the woman sped away at that same insane speed. What on Mundus was she in such a hurry for?

Sneeuw strolled lazily over to her bag where it lay on the ground, noting a small opening in one of the seams at the bottom. Through it, she could see murkily the contents of her bag. She pinched at the split seam, but was unable to do anything about it, so she hefted her bag over her shoulder again and hoped that there was nothing in it small enough to slip through the opening.

She turned back toward the open door, then finally discarded her caution and strode toward it, not looking inside but knocking. Why hadn't she thought of that earlier?

Someone was knocking. Why should someone be knocking, at this time. Well. It was time most people were awake. And he did run a smithy. So he supposed people would think it reasonable to knock on his door. Maybe he would just tell them to go away. No, he couldn't do that. Bad for business. Couldn't they just come inside and he could talk to them from bed? No, that was bad too. They might think him a laggard. Hmm. Well, no way around it. He'd have to get up.

Mavon groaned as he pushed himself up on his elbows and rubbed his eyes. He sat up more, the blankets sliding down his bare chest and exposing him to the chilled air. He ran a hand through his hair, even more wild than usual, from sleep. He was going to get up now. He sat for a second still, though, before staggering to his feet and heading to the door. He shivered as he went. At least he had pants on.

He arrived on the threshold to find the small Nord whose sword he had repaired standing before his door.

"Sneeuw? You're here early."

"Oh. Erm," Sneeuw started, seeing that she had roused him from bed. "Too early? 'Cause I can come back later." She could, really. Her sword was still in fine shape. She supposed she was just eager to continue the conversation from yesterday.

Mavon shook his head slowly.

"No, no need for that. I'm up now, I might as well stay that way."

He regarded her, slightly befuddled by sleep fuzz.

"Did you come for anything in particular, or just for more questions 'bout smithing?"

"All right," Sneeuw said, frowning at her fingers. "I'm sorry I came so early." But she gets restless when she has nothing in particular to do. Of course, she could go back to Balmora and ask Habasi if she knew what she wanted done yet, but where was the fun in that? Sneeuw let out a neutral 'hmm' when he asked if she came for anything in particular, then the 'hmm' lilted at the end when he went on and asked if she had more questions. So it sounded like 'hmm...MM!'

"Oh, but first. I want to thank you for the work you did on my blade. He's been doing extremely well for me. I was able to enter the Daedric shrine and do what I needed to do without taking any damage to myself or Vore." It was almost as though being sharpened had raised the blade's spirits, in a way.

Mavon smiled happily. Smithing and blades were things he could understand, even when only half awake.

"Good! I'm glad he's doing so much better."

Mavon's stomach gave a grumble. Errrrrragghher. Time for food, breakfast food. He couldn't right leave Sneeuw standing at the door while he ate, though.

"Well, Sneeuw, would you like to come inside? I'm feeling rather hungry and I'd like to have some breakfast. If you'd like I'll share, too." he said with a grin.

"Hm," Sneeuw said, frowning mildly. She supposed it was the hour, or the sunlight, that was making it so difficult for her to make a decision. "Well. I would love to join you, so long as it's no trouble. But you don't need to feed me." She grinned toothily. Her stomach was not used to breakfast, so it did not bother her.

"All right then! Come on in!"

He bustled away from the door and set about gathering up things for making breakfast; setting the fire to burning again to boil the water, counting out the kwama eggs that he'd be eating, unearthing clean potteryware to eat with.

"You can use that little table by the fire place, if you want to sit," Mavon called over his shoulder, indicating a small wooden table with two chairs, on the side of the fireplace closest to the door. The fireplace itself was on the right wall as one entered.

"Thank you," Sneeuw said. She would have stood idly by if Mavon had not indicated the table next to the fireplace. She pulled out the chair closest to her and sat down, crossing her legs and knitting her fingers together, placing her hand on her knee. She watched Mavon move about, preparing his breakfast, though in such a way that it was unobvious. Thieves know how to look without appearing to be showing any interest.

Mavon gingerly hung the heavy, water and kwama egg filled metal pot on its hook over the just catching flames and stood up, brushing several pebbles off of his knees and tossing the scrap of cloth that had protected his hands to lay on the dish cabinet.

He turned to the table and pulled out the other chair and sat in it, facing Sneeuw across the table.

"So," he said, "How was the Shrine?"

"Hm!" Sneeuw said through her nose. "It was old news. I didn't have time to explore. I only had an... errand to perform. So it was in and out, like that," she slapped her thigh lightly for emphasis. "So where'd you learn your trade? And when'd you decide it was for you?" Ask Sneeuw one question, get two in return.

"I see," said Maovn, chuckling. Oh, but she was a funny little Nord.

"My trade?" he said thoughtfully, "Well, I first got started smithing when I requested to be removed from active combatant duty for Redoran. They weren't keen on letting me go; only really did it cause the current smith at Hla Ruhn was getting to that age where he wasn't exactly comfortable pounding metal dawn to dusk, and he offered to train me as his replacement." He twisted about in his chair to check the pot; not yet boiling.

"He taught me the rudiments of the art," Mavon said, turning back to face Sneeuw, "It was only after I had left House Redoran that I truly learned to smith, though. Traveled to Orsinium and spent years apprenticed under several different Orcs."
He grinned across the table at Sneeuw.

"Well? You know quite a lot more about me than I know about you, now. So tell me; how does a young Nord like yourself come to be the owner of a blade of Daedric make?"

(You don't need to ask. Just jump right in there.)

Tynerelus stumbled into the smithy, carrying a half drunk bottle of Shein. Than he looked up.

"I say... this isn't the tavern... Where am I? Oh, I say! Where's my troupe? Ugh. I knew i shouldn't have left them, I knew it knew it knew i- *hiccup* Oh dear. Anybody mind telling me where the tavern is?" He mumbled, obviously half drunk.

"Whoopsie.. I'm not sure my legs can support me much long." WHUMP! he hit the ground hard.

Okay, completely drunk.
