Silthra blinked as she stepped out of the hold of the docking ship.
A sudden crash threw her across the deck, but she turned it into a somersault, and perched herself on one of the barrels of foodstuff on the deck. She thought the effect was rather ruined by the next bang knocking the barrel over, sending her onto the floor.
Ham-fisted docking aside, it had been an uneventful journey. Having completed her entrance forms, she exited and took a look aroud her. Her sensitive ears picked up chirruping of insects from the swamps and the daily hustle and bustle of the port town of Seyda Neen. But first... a job...

Silthra opened the door to Arilles tradehouse. Inside, she as concious of many eyes looking at her. Evidently they had never seen an Ohmes-Raht before. Indeed, most other Kahjiits she had seen so-far were Suthay-rahts. ignoring the stares, she walked up to the counter and asked Arrille
"'Scuse me, but do you have anything you need doing?"
The High Elf looked confused, and didn't answer her question, and asked one of his own.
"What're you then?"
Silthra Looked blank for a moment.
"what?"
"What race are you? You have a tail, but you look almost elf-like. Never seen anything like you anywhere."
Silthra sighed.
"Believe or not, I'm Kahjiit. Not some crazy mixed up hybrid thing. my appearance is due to me being an Ohmes-raht." she nearly snapped.
"Get asked that a lot?" Inquired Arrille
"Like you wouldn't believe. Anyway. Job. Now."
"Ah yes, of course. well, there was a mushroom collecting party I sent out west a while back. they've gone MIA, so if you could kindly track them down for me, I'll... let you have a freebie from my store."
Silthra looked around at the wares on display
"not very... high quality items, I must say..." she remarked, caustiously, trying to avoid offence."
"You know, it's amazing how many people have said that, and left with nothing," grinned Arrille "The lucky ones buy something soon afterwards."
"and the unlucky ones?"
"probably are still rotting outside the town boundries."
"Ah. I don't have much gold." Silthra began, "If its quite dangerous out there, won't I need protection?"
Arrille shook his head.
"Sorry, No loans. too many people just ran off with them. I sometimes find them, months or years later, having been circulated around various travellers and adventurers, eventually to be sold back to me."
"I can see why now." remarked Silthra "its okay. I'll just... stay off the ground."
"How?"
"doing what comes naturally to cats" Silthra grinned walking out of the shop.
outside the town walls, Silthra crouched, jumped, and caught hold of a tree branch.
